I’m Susan Rome‑Turpin.

I’ve spent more than forty‑five years studying, speaking, and living Spanish — a journey that began in Los Angeles and deepened during four transformative years in Cuernavaca, Morelos. What started as a three‑month immersion program became a life‑changing experience: living with a Mexican family, studying intensively, teaching English, and co‑founding Rojas y Rome, a fashion line serving resort boutiques throughout Mexico.

These years gave me a profound respect for Mexican culture and a lifelong connection to the language. Today I teach Spanish to seniors, blending conversation, culture, and practical communication in a warm, supportive environment.

My goal is simple: to help older adults feel confident, capable, and inspired as they learn Spanish — whether from home or while preparing for future travels.

I’m excited to share this next chapter with you.
